Since the federal government legalised a range of medicinal cannabis products in 2016, Australia’s medical cannabis market continues to grow. More than one-hundred different cannabis products can now be prescribed in Australia with a record number of approvals granted each year. Accordingly, the demand for safe, temperature-controlled storage and distribution has risen. An all-new storage facility has been built by BS3 in order to meet this need.
BS3’s state-of-the-art temperature-controlled storage facility located in Melbourne offers a range of solutions for medical cannabis products and scheduled medicines. With the appropriate licenses and expertise, BS3 is equipped to meet the requirements of each schedule in terms of both temperature control and security. This includes storage with basic security control for Schedule 4 products and more robust storage solutions that adhere to the strict legal requirements of safe or vaulted storage with video security for products in Schedule 8 and 9.
In addition to providing safe and effective storage solutions, BS3 is also able to transport medicinal cannabis products allowing for nationwide distribution. This includes transportation for products requiring storage between 2 and 8 degrees Celsius. To ensure product temperatures are maintained, shipments will be monitored with temperature loggers. ‘Validated packaging is a good start, but temperature loggers should be used also,’ says BS3 Director Matt Hayward.
